His father often beats him to make him behave, which slowly puts him in fear. When his father is around him, he feels father is like a ticking bomb which could explode at any time. He feels incredibly nervous and anxious before beating happens. Waiting for the beating tortures him much more than actually being beaten. He gets tranquility right after receving a good beating because he knows it keeps him away from the fear and anxiety.
